Instead of making it for them, Mr. Frost and his wife, Melissa Boehme Frost, decided to teach those who wanted to learn how to make quilts for themselves. Now, these students stay on their own free time, Fridays after school, for their quilting club.
Body and Sew quickly became a family affair as both daughters, Leah Frost and Dana Frost joined in to help teach the classes.
With “Body & Sew” the goal is not only to teach these kids a life skill, but also to think “outside the box” and to help the community. Each student makes at least one quilt that they will donate to a Children’s Hospital or youth program, before they move on to making a quilt for themselves.
